Antisemitism as the Uncool Oppression: Healing Jewish Pain with IFS
Antisemitism impacts all of us in different and similar ways. In progressive spaces, it can often feel uncool to talk about. It is a particular type of oppression that is widely misunderstood, weaponized and/or invalidated. Internal family systems (IFS) is a form of therapy that supports people heal parts of themselves that carry pain and shame. In this participatory workshop we will explore feelings and beliefs we hold related to antisemitism and our experiences of being Jewish. We will tap into our individual and collective strengths. And we will learn and engage in an IFS experiential practice to heal parts of ourselves that need compassion, connectedness and care. The workshop will include a group conversation and individual and collective experiential exercises. While this will be geared towards those who feel connected to Judaism personally in some way, all identities and experiences are lovingly welcome.
